Banner Butterflyfish #5(beginner)

The bannerfish is considered the easiest of all butterflyfish. It looks a lot like the Moorish Idol and is considered the "Poor man's Moorish Idol" This fish is best kept in pairs or in a school because when they are born they stay in a school but be sure to add them at the same time. They  are not aggressive to other fish other than other butterflyfish. They are also not reef safe, nipping at anything that looks like a coral or invertebrate. They grow to 10 inches and require a minimum of 55 gallons. The Bannerfish are omnivores which means they will eat both carnivore and herbivore preparations.

Racoon Butterflyfish #4(moderate)

Another intersting butterflyfish. Its color is breathtaking and its face is like a racoon. A racoon is pretty hardy and considerably easy but be sure that they are eating at the store. They are not aggressive at all to other butterflyfish or any fish. It is recommended that it is housed with other butterflyfish. Do not keep this fish with any predator of any kind. This fish will grow to 8 inches and require a minimum 55 gallon aquarium. This fish is not reef safe and will eat invertebrates. Is an omnivore and will eat both carnivore and herbivore preparations.

Golden Butterflyfish #3-2 (intermediate to advanced)

My favourite butterflyfish because of its spectacular color. It is a little tricky to keep but if you know your saltwater you should run into little problems. It is recomended to  keep it with other butterflyfish in a species only tank, because there survival rate is higher. They grow to 9 inches and can be kept in a minimum 55 gallon aquarium. They can be kept with soft corals but not with hard corals or invertebrates. They are not aggressive and should not be kept with any aggressive fish. The Golden butterfly is an omnivore and will eat both carnivore and herbivore preparations.

Longnose Butterflyfish #4 (moderate)

Another favourite of mine is the longnose butterflyfish. It is a very interesting fish to watch. The longnose butterfly is quite hardy after you have acclimitized it and will accept most foods. This fish should be kept either in a species only tank or in an extrmely peaceful tank. It is not reef safe because it will eat invertebrates and corals. It is not aggressive at all. It grows about 8 inches and should be kept in a minimum of 55 gallon aquarium. The longnose is an omnivore and will eat most carnivore and herbivore preparations.

Auriga Butterflyfish #5(beginner)

An extremly easy and hardy butterflyfish. It will accept all food and will acclimitize great. It can be kept with other fish except predators and with other butterflyfish. This fish will not bother hard corals but will not bother soft corals. This fish grows to 9 inches and can be kept in a minimum of 55 gallon aquarium. This fish is an omnivore and will accept all carnivore and herbivore preparations.
