True Percula Clownfish #5(beginner)

One of the more smaller and least aggressive clownfish is the Percula clownfish. The Percula is an easy and hardy choice for any aquarium, whether it be a mini reef, large reef or fish only ,this fish will thrive in most conditions.A lot of people confuse the Percula with the ocellaris clownfish, they are very similar except that the percula has black marking around its white stripes. The Percula is a great fish for a beginner aquarist. As you may know clownfish have host anemone in which they stay in and/or spawn in.The Percula may accept accept a bubble tip anemone but a better choice would be the long tentacle anemone. A host anemone is not required for survival;but it is fun to watch the clownfish' symbiotic relationship with its anemone.A Percula clownfish grows 3 inches and require a minimum of 25 gallon aquarium. The Percula is an omnivore and will accept both herbivore and carnivore preparations.

Gold Maroon Clownfish #5(beginner)
  img_2088.jpg

My favourite clownfish has to be the maroon clownfish because of its hardiness and beautiful coloration. This fish is a great fish for beginner aquarist. In my personal expirience with this fish I have found it a delightful fish to keep. This fish is very similar to the maroon clownfish except that it has gold stripes instead of white stripes. The Maroon is very easily kept and will thrive in any type of aquarium. The only downfall to this fish is that its is very aggressive towards other fish and other clownfish. This would be a great last addition to any aquarium. the maroon reaches about 6 inches and will require a minimum of 35 gallon aquarium. The Maroon clownfish' host anemone is a bubble tip anemone and will not likely accept any other anemone except this one. It is not required to have an anemone to survive it will thrive without one. This fish is an omnivore and will eat both herbivore and carnivore preparations.

Tomato Clownfish #5(beginner)

This is another hardy and easy fish to maintain in any aquarium. The Tomato clown is very attractive looking fish because it is a bold red color like a tomato and has a white stripe along the top of its head. The Tomato grows to about 4 inches and require a minimum of 30 gallon aquarium. The Tomato is the most aggressive clown fish out of all of them but the easiest to keep. For the Tomato clownfish to die you would need to hit it with a hammer. Its host anemone is the bubble tip anemone but it is not to picky about choosing an anemone.Clownfish do not need an anmenone to thrive it will live in any conditions. This is another great fish for the beginner aquarist. The Tomato clownfish is an omnivore and will eat both herbivore and carnivore preparations.

Clarkii Clownfish #5(beginner)

The Clarkii clownfish is a very colorful and hardy fish. This fish is not aggressive toward other fish but is aggressive toward other clownfish. This fish will thrive in any aquarium whether it be mini reef, large reef or a fish only aquarium. The Clarkii grows to 6 inches and requires a minimum 35 gallon aquarium. The Clarkki clownfish is not picky about a host anemone but would prefer a carpet anemone. The clownfish do not require an anemone under any circumstances to survive;it is just interesting to watch there symbiotic relationship with an anemone. The Clarkii clownfis is an omnivore and will eat both carnivore and herbivore preparations.
